A story about thexder is out on a wire

She knows some really cool games, including the crazy picture-story-telephone game. I played a variation on this once before, but it wasn’t this fun at all. Also . . . she is sweet! She brought cd’s for everyone! Hopefully next time we get together she won’t have to arrive late, and I won’t have to skip any part of the festivities, so we’ll have more time to hang out.

How I met Pajama and Kurta

Making the trip to my second Chicago 43T meetup was much more relaxed than it had been to make the trip to my first one. This is most likely because I relied on public transportation. I was looking forward to seeing RuthG’s domicile, and it turned out to be just as tasteful and charming as I had thought it would be. When I walked into the dining room where everyone was gaming, my view of PaK was somewhat obstructed by that of wembleyheads and PaK’s husband. I didn’t really focus on her until she said her name, and then her voice clicked from our phone conversations.

PaK was much smaller than I expected, both in terms of height and width. She looked… fragile, as if her bones were like those of a bird. But I know, from those phone conversations, that she definitely has a mind strong as steel, and according to her own admissions, some have found that mind as cold as steel as well.

PaK did not let much of herself out to play during this meetup. Somewhat ironic, considering she was the one who got the ball rolling for the meetup in the first place. Her presence was subtle. It is important to note that what she did let us see was witty and fun. Enough of a taste to make me wish for some one-on-one time with her in the future.

The meetup happened in two parts; there was the gaming, and then a smaller group of us went to a nearby bar. PaK and her husband opted not to join the bar group. This saddened me a bit, because I was looking forward to talking with them more, but it was all right. It’s my understanding that a second gaming meetup is going to happen again before too long. I definitely hope PaK will be a part of it!

How I met michael

Making the trip to my second Chicago 43T meetup was much more relaxed than it had been to make the trip to my first one. This is most likely because I relied on public transportation. I was looking forward to seeing RuthG’s domicile, and it turned out to be just as tasteful and charming as I had thought it would be. When I walked into the dining room where everyone was gaming, my eyes went to michael first, because he was directly across the room from me.

I had no idea who he was.

This is a big deal to me, because not only have I been subscribed to him since very shortly after I started my account on this site (and therefore have seen his partial pictures time and again), but also I had a dream a few nights before the meetup which starred a character named Patrick which somehow I knew (dream knowledge is weird) was really supposed to represent michael. Nope, he looked nothing like that dream character whatsoever. Nor did he look like what I thought he would look like, based on his partial shots; his skin was much tanner, and his face much broader. Plus, he had stubble, and I’d always assumed he would be very cleanshaven. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know.

If you look at his tags, it would seem that just about everyone seems to agree that michael is a funny guy. The word I would use to describe his sense of humor is “dry”. Also, I would say he has a “sly wit”. Gamers beware: he has a strong competitive streak, wanted to “crush” all of us at Rigamarole.

How I met wembleyheads

Making the trip to my second Chicago 43T meetup was much more relaxed than it had been to make the trip to my first one. This is most likely because I relied on public transportation. I was looking forward to seeing RuthG’s domicile, and it turned out to be just as tasteful and charming as I had thought it would be. When I walked into the dining room where everyone was gaming, I didn’t see wembleyheads at first, because she was closest to me on my left side and my eyes went straight ahead, instead of around the circle. But when she said “hi”, I recognized her voice from our phone conversations.

wembleyheads is of average height on the short side. She is quite slim and (at least in the wintertime,) pale. She was wearing a bright magenta-pink sleeved shirt with a v neckline, which I later found out she loves, and a necklace of oval copper-colored stones, which I later found out she is ambivalent about but wore in an attempt to look “more girly” (she plans on shaving her head soon and is worried about looking too boyish).

Of all the people I met at this meetup, wembleyheads holds a special place in my heart because she decided to host me overnight and even go with me to my Quaker meeting in the morning (she probably won’t go again, it’s a little too unstructured for her, but I really appreciated the gesture), so we got a chance to really talk in depth. We discovered some important stuff that we have in common, and discussed formative life experiences. You know those meaty conversations that go on and on? Yeah, it was great.

It’s my understanding that a second gaming meetup is going to happen again before too long. I definitely hope wembleyheads will be a part of it, but even more importantly, I hope to see her again before then. She is simply irresistible and too much fun to wait months to see!

How I met Smartkookie

Making the trip to my second Chicago 43T meetup was much more relaxed than it had been to make the trip to my first one. This is most likely because I relied on public transportation. I was looking forward to seeing RuthG’s domicile, and it turned out to be just as tasteful and charming as I had thought it would be. When I walked into the dining room where everyone was gaming, Smartkookie had her back to me, which was a good thing because otherwise everyone would have seen my jaw drop to the floor.

To put it bluntly, Smartkookie is a babe. She has wavy raven tresses and beautiful wide eyes, which (if my memory serves me correctly… oh, I hope I’m not wrong… I feel like Jimmy in Thelma and Louise) are olive green. She is tall and thin, though not too thin. She also has a great fashion sense! I loved her necklace, and the clothes she wore were great for her already great figure.

The meetup happened in two parts; there was the gaming, and then a smaller group of us went to a nearby bar. Smartkookie was one of the ones who went to the second part of the meetup. She was gracious enough to pay for my drink (the public transportation had sucked up the meager funds I had scraped together for the event), but I managed to stop myself from hitting on her. I talked with her about what had been going on in my life for the past couple weeks – she has not been as active on 43T as she was before she started job hunting – and she returned the favor.

It’s my understanding that a second gaming meetup is going to happen again before too long. I definitely hope Smartkookie will be a part of it!

How I met Matt Maldre

Making the trip to my second Chicago 43T meetup was much more relaxed than it had been to make the trip to my first one. This is most likely because I relied on public transportation. I was looking forward to seeing RuthG’s domicile, and it turned out to be just as tasteful and charming as I had thought it would be. When I walked into the dining room where everyone was gaming, I do believe Matt greeted me at least a fraction of a second before anyone else did, and his enthusiasm continued throughout the night.

In many ways, Matt reminds me of a jolly, eager, frolicking puppy. I was not surprised to discover later that he is a “dog person”. He talks boisterously and moves in the same manner. I don’t think anyone has ever laughed at my jokes as loudly as he did, which was quite pleasant once I got used to it.

The meetup happened in two parts; there was the gaming, and then a smaller group of us went to a nearby bar. Matt was one of the ones who went to the second part of the meetup. One of the most vivid memories I have of the evening was how, when standing behind me and asking if I were going to the bar too, he reached out and gave my shoulders a nice, friendly squeeze. It surprised me a little bit but the familiarity of it was touching (literally! hah, I crack me up).

It’s my understanding that a second gaming meetup is going to happen again before too long. I definitely hope Matt will be a part of it.

A story about thexder is out on a wire

We played board games. As soon as she entered the room, I could tell that she is a super cool fantastic person. Lots of smiles and laughs and so much fun. :-)

Why I want to meet thexder is out on a wire

To play board games (hip hip hooray!) and she really things about spirituality (and ponders direct questions in her entries), and has other cool things on her 43things list like ride in a hot air balloon.

Because she RETURNED FROM THE DEAD!

Why I admire Hawkmeister

Because he gets away with such naughtiness – I mean, he talks about mustache rides – and still gets tagged “gentleman”!
